When we join together in song, we lift each other up!
Az Yashir Boys Choir is a brand-new program for boys in 2nd–6th grade. Building on the success of Shiras Hayam Girls Choir, founded in 2018 by Yael Bohbot, Az Yashir now brings that same vision of music, creativity, teamwork, and confidence to boys in our community.
Under the dynamic leadership of Yehuda Bromberg, Az Yashir is designed with its own unique style and energy, while rooted in the proven experience that has made Shiras Hayam so impactful.
Az Yashir is open to every boy - there are no auditions or tryouts. The goal of the program is about much more than singing: it’s about building confidence, learning discipline, and experiencing the pride of working hard together as part of a team.
This isn’t a voice lesson program, but along the way the boys will pick up essential vocal techniques, learn how to record in a professional studio, and experience the excitement of performing in a professional music video that will be shared on Jewish music platforms and streaming services.
Each class blends fun and engaging activities with structure and focus, teaching the boys to practice, perform, and shine together!

Is Az Yashir voice lessons?
The short answer is no. We do vocal exercises each class, but our main focus of choir, is the sound of the choir as a whole. The vocal cords are a muscle, by setting a time each week for singing, your son's voice will improve by default. We learn: breathing techniques, emotion while singing, acting techniques for the music video, and how to successfully record in the studio.
How much does it cost?
Each 10 week season is 355$ per child. Siblings each get a 15$ discount. You can pay in two payments if you prefer.
If you want to cancel before the second class, you will receive half back. After the second class, there are no refunds as spots are limited and competitive.
Does my son need to have a “good” voice to join Az Yashir Choir?
No! In Az Yashir we believe in honing in on each boy's individual singing ability. We try our best to give each boy a chance to shine. Classes in Az Yashir are a lot of fun and for everyone to enjoy!
What does the music video day look like?
The original song will be a larger production, with most practices focusing on it, while the cover song will be a smaller, shorter production.
Each season/video is different and we send out information when we have it closer to the film day. We film for about 2-5 hours at our film location.
What does my son wear to the music video?
The boys will be receiving custom Az Yashir clothing. In addition the boys will need a specific color pants and shirt.
Each video is different but we give a heads up so you can buy or borrow from a friend.
Generally we pick something practical.
Will my son get a solo in the video?
While we try our best to allow each boy to shine in the music video, due to the size of the choir and many other filming/editing factors it is impossible to have an equal amount of screen time for each boy.
